The data is accesses as elements/instances, organized into categories. The elements are then placed into rows, having its parameters as columns.

2- Opening a pre-saved view, in the dropdown under the category list. One must save a view first before loading it.

Selecting parameters for the datatable

One selects the parameters to be edited in the same way as on the Revit schedules. The parameters can be added to the view by one of the following ways:

1 - Use the checkbox in the category browser. By checking a parameter it gets added to the view.

2 - Use the Fields button on the right side to add the parameters to the datatable.

Use the Filters button on the bottom right side. Add the conditions related to each parameter that you wish to filer.

Export the table

It is possible to export the table either as PDF, XLS (Excel) and to the printer. Use the dropdown by clicking the button Export on the right bottom side.

Paste to multiple cells

Using the clipboard it is possible to paste cell data from Database Editor or any other Windows application to multiple cells, like on Excel. One can either copy one cell and paste it to multiple cells, or copy multiple cells to multiple cells.

Find and Replace

It is possible to Find and Replace values in a cell or multiple cells by clicking the button Replace. One can then either choose a specific column or all the table.

Error handling

The modifications in the data are automatically inserted in the Revit database. Any wrong values that generate an error thrown by Revit is displayed instantly, as it would be data inserted in the Revit native interface.

Settings files

Database Editor writes several settings files in the proximity of the Revit documents. Should your document be stored in the Autodesk cloud, one can specify a saving location in the options tab.
