Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Archi
About Luis Santos
Luis Santos is the founder and chief executive officer of Archi. He founded the business in 2011, when it originally operated as Archigrafix, and continues to lead its strategic direction, product development, and growth.
His interest in information technology started early. At the age of eight, after getting a Timex 2068, he became deeply interested in creating his own tools and exploring how technology could be used to solve real problems. That early curiosity continues to shape how he works today.
As an architect and computational design specialist, his work combines practice-based architectural experience with software development, BIM workflows, and AI-driven parametric modelling for the AEC industry. He has developed digital solutions for architecture, including Autodesk Revit applications and workflow tools used in real project environments.
Alongside leading Archi, Luis works as a senior architect at Oslo Works. His professional background also includes senior architectural roles at NSW Arkitektur, Foster + Partners, and Atelier Nuno Lacerda Lopes, with project experience across office, education, commercial, government, residential, and research buildings.
Luis studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto and at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design. He believes in continuous training, ongoing knowledge building, and innovation as a practical discipline. His current focus includes artificial intelligence, and he continues to deepen that work through further study, including Harvard University.
His recent work and published case studies span IFC and drawing automation, point-cloud-driven modelling, digital timber coordination, and AI-assisted design workflows. This page serves as the person-level reference used across leadership and author references on goto.archi.
