ACC & BIM 360 backup

Your ACC and BIM 360 files, backed up to storage you control.

Schedule copies to a local drive, NAS or S3-compatible bucket, with every downloaded file checked.

See what copied, what could not, and which projects have no backup job.

The problem

Have a copy before you need it.

If someone deletes a project folder, you need to know what was already copied. Archi Backup keeps files deleted in Autodesk by default, and records each run.

Before a subscription ends or someone leaves, take a copy while access remains. Keep it on storage your firm controls, alongside a record of the copied files.

For an audit, review what copied and what could not, rather than assuming success. If ransomware is part of your risk assessment, protect the backup destination separately.

How it works

Connect. Choose. Schedule. Check.

01

Connect

Sign in to Autodesk after your account administrator approves Archi Backup for each account.

02

Choose

Select a folder, project, hub or account, then choose your destination and version policy.

03

Schedule

Set hourly, daily or weekly runs, keeping the backup PC on and its Windows user signed in.

04

Check

Review each run for copied files, warnings and failures, then check projects without backup jobs.

Destinations

Keep project copies where your firm controls them.

Choose a local drive, NAS, network share or your own S3-compatible bucket. Back up a folder, project, hub or whole account, following the project's folder structure.

Choose the copy you need.

S3 buckets use Mirror; Snapshot needs a folder destination.

  • Mirror: Copy new and changed files; keep files deleted in Autodesk by default.
  • Snapshot: Keep dated copies under your retention rule, on folder destinations.
  • Versions: Copy the current version, or include earlier versions.

Revit

Know what your Revit backup contains.

Archi Backup fetches available linked models and labels each Revit cloud model copy. Composite models remain Autodesk's published package as a ZIP, with model and links together.

Publish before the backup runs; unpublished synced changes are not included.

Links are copied as currently held in Autodesk Docs; older model versions contain no links.

Trust

Checked files. Visible gaps. Read-only access.

Verification

Every downloaded file is hashed and compared with Autodesk's checksum when one is supplied. A mismatch is never accepted as a good copy.

Read-only access

Archi Backup only reads from Autodesk and never changes, uploads or deletes hub data.

Data control

Project data never passes through Archi Systems' servers; copies go to storage you control.

Names

If Windows requires a filename change, its reversible mapping stays with the backup.

Installer: EV-signed by Archi Systems AS, Oslo, Norway.

Coverage report separating projects with no backup job from covered projects.

Evidence

Find projects without a backup job.

Run reports show what copied, what was skipped and what could not be copied. Coverage shows projects without a backup job; it does not replace checking run results.

Scheduling

Keep copies current without repeating the setup.

Choose hourly, daily or weekly runs; unchanged files are skipped on later runs. One Windows PC can back up the firm's accessible Autodesk projects.

Keep that PC on and the Windows user who set up scheduling signed in.

A locked screen is fine; signing out stops scheduled backups.

Check access and coverage before paying.

Browse accessible hubs, projects, folders and versions, and view coverage without a licence. Copying files and running backups requires an active trial or licence.

FAQ

Before you start

Will Archi Backup change anything in our Autodesk hubs?

No. It requests read-only access and never uploads, changes or deletes Autodesk hub data.

Can it run overnight with the app closed?

Yes, through a Windows scheduled task while its Windows user remains signed in. Keep the PC on; a locked screen is fine, but signed-out users cannot run scheduled backups.

What does our Autodesk administrator need to do?

Approve Archi Backup once per Autodesk account. The app provides an approval helper; your Autodesk sign-in must also have access to the projects.

Does it include unpublished Revit changes and every linked model?

No. Cloud models reflect their last publish; unavailable files and missing links are reported. Links use their current Docs version; older model versions have no links.

How do we know what copied successfully?

Every downloaded file is hashed, with Autodesk checksum comparison when a checksum is supplied. Review run warnings and failures, and use coverage to find projects without a job.

What happens if files are deleted in Autodesk?

The default is to keep them in the backup. You can change retention; dated Snapshot copies are available for folder destinations.

Can it restore our projects into ACC or BIM 360?

No. This version has no restore or migration to Autodesk. Folder backups contain ordinary files; use your provider's tools to retrieve files from a bucket.

What happens when the trial or licence ends?

Backups and downloads require a licence; browsing and reports remain available. Existing backups stay untouched, including if you uninstall Archi Backup.
